Duckweed

Natural Filtration and Comfort

Duckweed (Lemna minor) is one of the most popular floating plants for freshwater aquariums and ponds. Renowned for its rapid growth, it acts as a powerful natural filter, absorbing excess nitrates and phosphates from your water column to help maintain pristine conditions.

Why Choose Duckweed?

• Exceptional Filtration: Helps prevent algae blooms by outcompeting algae for nutrients.
• Fish Security: Provides vital cover and shade, making shy fish feel secure and reducing stress.
• Easy Maintenance: Simply scoop out excess growth to keep your water surface clear.

Care Tips

Duckweed thrives in moderate to high light and requires minimal effort. It is an excellent choice for breeding tanks, as the fine root systems provide a safe haven for fry. Ensure your aquarium has gentle surface agitation to keep the plants from clumping too tightly.
