Snails

Snails are useful algae and detritus cleanup crew for an established tank, and most freshwater species benefit from some calcium in the water or diet to keep their shells strong - soft, low-mineral water can lead to shell pitting over time. Like shrimp, they're generally copper-sensitive, so check any medications before dosing a tank that houses them.
